Two Ascension Parish Men Indicted on Second Degree Murder Charges by

           On November 18, 2016, an Ascension Parish Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment for Second Degree Murder charges on both Kevin Ross, age 18, and Jamar Jones, age 18, both of Gonzales, LA.

           Ross and Jones were arrested in connection with the July shooting death of Alex Rubio, age 18. Rubio was a resident of Gonzales and attended East Ascension High School. Nearly two days after family members had seen Rubio, his body was discovered in the New River Canal near Cornerview Rd. in Gonzales.

          Ross and Jones both remain incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Detention Center awaiting arraignment. Assistant District Attorney Joni Buquoi is the lead prosecutor on this case.
