On April 5, 2022, James Aucoin Jr. of 19477 Cherry St. Vacherie, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts). Aucoin was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and pressing over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors in connection with a 2019 narcotics investigation.
In April of 2019, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents along with assistance of agents from multiple other jurisdictions began investigating James Aucoin Jr. after identifying Aucoin as a well-established methamphetamine distributor in and around St. James Parish. Agents made multiple purchases of methamphetamine from Aucoin across multiple parishes. Upon completion of these transactions with Aucoin, agents were granted a warrant of arrest for Aucoin. Aucoin was subsequently arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Jail.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Aucoin was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
