SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of April 18-April 22, 2016, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

 

  1. Randy Preston, 232 Killona Dr. Killona, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Simple Criminal Damage to Property. The defendant was sentenced to 180 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Sarah Fails, 13250 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 49, pled guilty to Negligent Injuring 1st Offense and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Austin Guillory, 37019 Murphy Webb Ave. Prairieville, LA., age 18, pled guilty to 4 counts of Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Spencer Converse, Napoleonville, LA., age 46, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Robbery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Michael Jordan, 2750 Aubin Ln. Baton Rouge, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession or Distribution of a Legend Drug without Prescription or Order. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.

 

  1. Rodney McLaughlin, 945 N College St. Charlotte, NC., age 53, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1 year of unsupervised probation.

 

  1. Tate Mouret, 2191 S HWY 1 Donaldsonville, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  1. Ryon Simmons, 110 Pauline St. Pierre Part, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of an Access Card as Theft. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  1. Brad Roddy, 17295 J.T. Roddy Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Dupaty. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

 

 

 

Assumption Parish:

 

  1. Douglas Evans, 837 Pinetree St. Slidell, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

 

 

St. James Parish:

 

  1. Carl Dennis, 9202 Central Project St. Convent, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Resisting a Police Officer with Force or Violence and Possession of Marijuana 1st The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

 

  1. Ravon Joseph, 2309 N Albert St. Lutcher, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Convicted Felon Possessing a Firearm or Concealed Weapon and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections on each count with credit for time served. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.

 

  1. Timothy Louis, 8249 Kingview St. St. James, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Aggravated Crimes against Nature and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant must serve 2 years of the imposed sentence. Upon release, the remaining 8 years of the imposed sentence are to be suspended, and the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation.
