SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of August 17 – August 21, 2020, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Thimey Brown, 5657 Hartford Ave. Baton Rouge, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Tyron Johnson, 114 Oakridge Ave. Donaldsonville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Andrew Pecoul, Prairieville, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Dupaty, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

  1. Zachary Lessard, 13232 George Rouyea Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $5.000 or More, but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.  
  2. Milton Mosby, 6770 Avacado Dr. Baton Rouge, LA., age 21, pled guilty to Attempted Simple Burglary, Simple Burglary, and Theft of a Firearm. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. David Johnson, 38149 Smith Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Attempted Simple Burglary, and Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Craig Stewart and Maeghen Kling. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Emile St. Pierre.

Assumption Parish:

Assumption Parish had no court news to report this week.

St. James Parish:

  1. Andre Truxillo, 1295 Magnolia Heights Vacherie, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
