During the week of August 6-August 10, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Phillip Ferdinand, 8623 Rush Ave. Baton Rouge, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Eden Rossi, 12325 Laurel Ridge Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  3. Gregory Nash, 13096 Cypress Gold Dr. St. Amant, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Russell LeBlanc, 45118 Haydel Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Legend Drug without Prescription or Order and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  5. Kerstin Avery, 41450 Glen Williams Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Legend Drug without Prescription or Order. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  6. Blake Callier, 16385 Lessie Lane Prairieville, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Theft. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  7. Levi Mitchell, 41149 Hwy 42 Prairieville, LA., age 59, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  8. Reyna Cooley, 922 W Macci St. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  9. Normand Arnold III, 16161 Tiger Bend Rd. Baton Rouge, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Theft. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  10. Celine Breard, 13074 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for times served.
  11. Meagan Alford, 14120 Bert Allen Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  12. Cooley Johnson Jr., 14327 Lake Path Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  13. Kandise Moore, 18188 Beechwood Subdivision Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  14. Larry Guillot, 434 S Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Legend Drug without Prescription or Order and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  15. Christopher Gray, 37035 Murphy Webb St. Geismar, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  16. Tanner Eppinett, 14576 Bluff Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  17. Darrin Ellsworth, Bourgeois Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  18. Marion Martin, 43264 Moody Dixon Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 12 months supervised probation.
  19. Tyrone Walker, 1124 S Arceneaux St. Gonzales, LA., age 46, pled guilty to Theft, Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  20. Kristian Willis, 18012 Cecil James Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Theft, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  21. Jake Couvillion, 1201 Amelia St. Gretna, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  22. Steven Fontenot, 14054 Hwy 44 Gonzales, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  23. Brianna Goodrich, 13202 Lambert Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  24. Seth Arnette, 111 Riche Town Lane Napoleonville, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and Simple Battery. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 12 months supervised probation.
  25. Darron Harris, 409 W Fourth St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Obtaining Legend Drugs by Misrepresentation or Fraud. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  26. Neo Morris, 324 S Ida St. Gonzales, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  27. Nickolas Cox, 18267 Jessica St. Prairieville, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, No Insurance, Failure to Yield, Driving Under Suspension, Flight from an Officer, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  28. Amber Champagne, 1726 Bay Tree St. Lutcher, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  29. Marquincy Chatman, 511 Catalpa St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Possession of a Legend Drug without Prescription or Order and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  30. Gregory Jermain Collins, 4502 Ambrosia Springs Lane Katy, TX., age 46, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months in the parish jail with credit for time served.
  31. Martell Telfair, 1002 Maginnis St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  32. Everret Pedescleaux, 202 Anthony Dr. Donaldsonville, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Illegal Carrying of Weapons. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  33. Michael Simmons, 114145 Murphy Estates Lane, Livingston, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Domestic Abuse Battery. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.

Assumption Parish:

Assumption Parish had no court news to report this week.

St. James Parish:

  1. Reginald Steib, 19434 Mimosa St. Vacherie, LA., age 60, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Movable and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Sheri Francis, 2619 Hodgedon Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 45, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
