SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of February 1 – February 5, 2021, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Travis Connerly, 45179 Stringer Bridge Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. William Nicholas, 22822 Joe May Rd. Denham Springs, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Jordan Diez, 37113 White Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Robert Grosse, 41120 Merritt Evans Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  5. Chance Cutrer, 1833 Calf Run Rd. Schriever, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  6. Larry Guillot, 43480 Elwin Duhe Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  7. Jeffery Griffin. 14950 Louise St. Denham Springs, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 6 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  8. Stephanie Simoneaux, 18538 Old Ferry Dr. Maurepas, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Battery of a Police Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Disturbing the Peace. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  9. Gerald Cox, 405 West Eighth St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Joshua Hyatt, 305 W 4th St. Roanoke, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Monetary Instrument Abuse. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Kathleen Lodrigue, 122 Rodrigue St. Thibodaux, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Identity Theft and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Anthony Loston, 1302 Adrian St. New Iberia, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  4. Kevin Guillot Jr., 151 Rue De Kajun St. Pierre Part, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (2 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Lacy Fabre, 120 Legnon Ct. Morgan City, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau.

St. James Parish:

  1. Demetria Miller, 401 St. Charles Bypass Rd. Thibodaux, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Principal to Simple Burglary (2 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Misael Zavaleta, 2204 Pinkertn Dr. Tyler, TX., age 39, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
