SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of February 22 – February 26, 2021, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Antonio Coleman, 11230 Nash Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 49, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Byron Dezara, Donaldsonville, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Involving Strangulation and Unauthorized Use of a Movable. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Devis Napoleon, 7153 Communi St. St. James, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.  
  2. Alton Herbert, 151 Hwy 1003 Belle Rose, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  3. Ty Albarado, 3117 Hwy 308 Napoleonville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  4. Seth Pujol, 2413 Lee Dr. Pierre Part, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  5. Sherry Thibodeaux, 578 N Holly Rd. Labadieville, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve 1 year of the said sentence, and the remaining 4 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  6. Phillip Randolph, 128 Dotties Lane Franklin, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve 1 year of the said sentence and the remaining 2 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  7. Kaitlin Chedotal, 114 N Curtis St. Pierre Part, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  8. Ciara Leonard, 1245 Hwy 402 Napoleonville, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles and Distribution of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.  
  9. Gregory Johnson, 214 Fandall St. Gibson, LA., age 60, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  10. Faron Lovell, 136 Coon Rd. Pierre Part, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
