SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of February 15 – February 19, 2021, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Joseph Guidry, 18624 Broussard Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Corbin Dupuis, 39362 Country Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 21, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above-mentioned cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Craig Stewart and Maeghen Kling. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau.

  1. Tate Arnold, Age 28, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Charles Bibbs, 602 W Worthey Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and Violation of Protective Orders. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in the parish jail with credit for time served. 
  3. Howard Bonnette, 12829 Sullivan Rd. Baton Rouge, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  4. Walter Richard, 5116 Highland Rd. Baton Rouge, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Dupaty, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

Assumption Parish:
