SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of March 15 – March 19, 2021, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Damion Demby, 1005 Elizabeth St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Stan Frederic, 16482 Hwy 929 Prairieville, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and Attempted Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Justin Juul, 11474 Cornerview Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Forcible Rape and was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is required to register and notify as a sex offender.
  4. Haile Lemary, 18587 Little Prairie Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kenneth Dupaty and O’Neil Parenton. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Skyla Shelby, 101 Pearl St. Thibodaux, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  2. Jeffery Lodrigue, 3478 Second St. Berwick, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Darin Davis, 120 Davis St. Paincourtville, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Tricia Cortez, 21430 Jon Michelle Rd. Zachary, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Kivari Bridges, 405 Owens St. Napoleonville, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin.

St. James Parish:

  1. Maurce Steward, 2542 E Lebray St. Lutcher, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
