SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of May 13 – May 17, 2019, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Demetrius Robinson, 6685 Titan Ave. Baton Rouge, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve 1 year of the said sentence, and the remaining 5 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Tanga Wagner, 5213 Tolbert Ave. Baton Rouge, LA., age 46, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 (2 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for times served.
  3. John Gentry, 52066 Hwy 190 Livonia, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (2 counts) and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Starla Gentry, 52177 John Forbes Rd. Franklinton, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (2 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Justin Lea, 2607 Meadow Wood Dr. Slaughter, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Auto Burglary, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  6. Steven Reed, 47021 Hwy 22 St. Amant, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  7. Kyle Singletary, 42350 Palmstone Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  8. Samuel Lane, 118 W Penn St. Gonzales, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Home Invasion and Simple Battery of the Infirmed. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve 3 years of the said sentence, and the remaining 12 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  9. William Perkins, 13045 Depen St. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (2 counts) and Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. The defendant was sentenced to 12 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator.

  1. Ernest Johnson, 6514 Magnolia Springs Pkwy Carville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  2. Angela Simoneaux, 19361 Hwy 22 Maurepas, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and Theft Valued at $750 or More, but Less Than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Shawn Bush and Phil Maples. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Lucien Aucoin, 155 Felicia St. Morgan City, LA., age 57, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Simple Burglary (3 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. The said sentences are to run concurrent with one another.
  2. Kevin Pintado, Pierre Part, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Michael Gagliano, 131 Honey Lane Morgan City, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Cultivation of Marijuana and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Sierra Thibodeaux, 3105 Hwy 308 Napoleonville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and Cruelty to Juveniles. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

St. James Parish:

  1. Bryan Howard, 17099 Marty Low Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  2. Roderick Lapeyrolerie, 119 Lapeyrolerie Dr. Reserve, LA., age 55, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
