SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of May 18 – May 22, 2026, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Darius Spears, 36325 Spears Lane Prairieville, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Kevin Burton, 8718 Apricot St. New Orleans, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. On the charge of Illegal Use of Weapons, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. On the charge of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, the defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. The said sentences are to run concurrent with one another. 
  1. Walter Melnick, 12107 Lake Lora Circle Baton Rouge, LA, age 51, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Epifanio Morales, 14158 Garcon Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Second Degree Battery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.                                                                                                                                
  2. Nicholas Roubique, 13461 Bayou Oaks St. Gonzales, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Edward Smith, 4955 Maryland St. St. Gabriel, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Caden Williams, 4330 Sherwood St. Baton Rouge, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Second Degree Battery and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Deyyvon Lucas, 5156 Mars St. Darrow, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Leila Braswelll, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

  1. Michelle Delhommer, 42339 Hwy 42 Prairieville, LA, age 46, pled guilty to Forgery and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. William Davis, 42247 Hwy 931 Gonzales, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $25,000 or More. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.  
  1. Douglas Decuir, 17880 Airline Hwy Prairieville, LA, age 44, pled guilty to Second Degree Rape (2 counts), Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (2 counts), and Pornography Involving Juveniles with Victim Under 13 Years of Age (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 30 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. As part of this plea agreement, the defendant agrees to surgical castration to be administered by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections by a licensed physician. The defendant must also register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for life. 
  1. Jamal Holloway, 40144 Germany Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Obstruction of Justice and Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Derrick Lodge, 1835 Besson Lane Sunshine, LA, age 42, pled guilty to Molestation of a Juvenile Under the Age of 13 (2 counts) and was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for life. 
  1. Antoinette Brown, 3048 Ursula Spencer Way New Orleans, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Theft and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jaylun Brown, 1146 Arcadia Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Second Degree Battery and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Ray Landry, 127 East 29th Street Reserve, LA, age 69, pled guilty to Felony Hit and Run Driving. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation to be served on home incarceration. 
  1. Markeith Jenkins, 15164 Villa Court East Gonzales, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Attempted Simple Robbery and Obstruction of Justice. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Rachez Joseph, 1612 Versailles Business Parkway Covington, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Obstruction of Justice and was sentenced to 18 months in the parish jail with credit for time served. 
  1. Jody Ross, 5552 Flynn Rd. Port Allen, LA, age 69, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Lana Chaney and Adam Koenig. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Dean Hue Jr., 3112 S Hwy 1 Donaldsonville, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jovvan Williams, 137 Gold St. Napoleonville, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Solomon Wise, 120 Nora T Lane Thobodaux, LA, age 56, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 1 year of the said sentence is to be served, and the remaining 2 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Troyvor Tillman, 405 Canal St. Thibodaux, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Dequincy Williams, 19517 Lemon St. Vacherie, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
