SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of May 2-May 6, 2016, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Assumption Parish:

1. Craig Scott Jr., 121 Jacobs St. Napoleonville, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

2. Jordon Cheatham, 105 James St. Thibodaux, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Per the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc, sentencing was deferred pending a pre-sentence investigation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

St. James Parish:

1. Anthony Duhon, 119 N Airline Hwy Gramercy, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation.

2. Crondell Flowers, 1034 Paul Frederick St. Luling, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The imposed sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

3. Ricardo Cabrera, 608 E Airline Hwy Gramercy, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Bruce Mohon and Steven Tureau. The presiding judges were the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr. and the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.
