During the week of May 9-May 13, 2016, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James

Ascension Parish:

  1. Larry Guillot, 15194 Sweet Pecan Ave., Prairieville, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Charles Coleman, 2080 Main St. Baker, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Reyna Cooley, 16118 Monica Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Marcos Moran, 615 Pleasant Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 17, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Theft Valued at $750 or more, but less than $5000, Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling, and Theft Valued at $750 or more, but less than $5000. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections on each count with credit for time served. All of the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.

 

  1. Tremayne Price, 38410 Duplessis Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Ricky Sullivan, 12384 N Coursealt St. St. James, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Amy Colby. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.

 

  1. Leander Jones, 42427 Norwood Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentence to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Chance Cutrer, 1838 Cow Run Rd. Schriever, LA., age 28 pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  1. Phillip Hayes, 413 Houmas St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Public Intimidation. The defendant was sentence to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Bradley Mcelwee, 39486 Hwy 929 Prairieville, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.

 

  • Terrance Holmes, 146 Jones St. Napoleonville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 

  • Tara Torres, 39459 Locia St. Gonzales, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Accessory After the Fact to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.

 

  • Mickey Barker, 314 S Sammy St. Gonzales, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  • Mitchell Chatman, 900 Oak St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Battery of a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Domestic Abuse Battery. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  • Marvin Millien, 502 W 6th Donaldsonville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance (3 Counts), Possession of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoids 1st Offense, False Certificates, Theft Values at Less than $750, and Resisting an Officer. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.

 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Lindsey Manda. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

 

Assumption Parish:

 

  1. Rashied Green, 243 Hwy 400 Napoleonville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from a Police Officer and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

St. James Parish:

 

St. James Parish had no guilty pleas to report this week.
