SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of October 14 – October 18, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Katrina Butler, 5907 Silverleaf Ave. Baton Rouge, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jeremy Johnson, 17797 Airline Hwy Prairieville, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Pablo Veloquio, 3081 S 432 Pryor, OK, age 44, pled Guilty to DWI 4th Offense and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 8 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Bobby Duncan, 1616 N Harco Baton Rouge, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Theft of a Firearm, and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Charles Jones, 12285 Laurel Ridge Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Simple Burglary (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 7 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Michael Jones, 317 W Sycamore St. Gonzales, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Attempted Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Roy Sellers, 5162 Salinger Dr. Darrow, LA, age 34, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and Operating a Vehicle While License is Suspended/Revoked/Canceled. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 1 year of the said sentence is to be served, and the remaining 4 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 4 years supervised probation. 
  1. Sean Evans, 43460 Black Bayou Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 55, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Illegal Carrying and Discharge of Weapons. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Davante Jones, 18004 Timberline Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and Nonconsensual Disclosure of a Private Image. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jalil Williams, 1217 Pauline St. New Orleans, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle (2 counts) and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phillip Prescott, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. 

  1. Michael Dunn, 12307 Old Mill Stone Ave Geismar, LA, age 35, pled No Contest to Illegal Possession of Weapons (2 counts), Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 14 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Bryant Guidry, 37088 Geismar Dr. Geismar, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (2 counts) and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Michael Littlejohn, 4057 N Barrow Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 42, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $25,000 or More and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $5,000 or More. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Misty Leach, 1621 Swan Ave Baton Rouge, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $5,000 or More and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Phil Maples and Brant Mayer. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Robert Rainey, 110 Violet St. Labadieville, LA, age 39, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Charon Bougere, 305 Cortez St. Thibodaux, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
