Gonzales Man Pleads Guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile

On September 10, 2018, Leslie Davis of Gonzales, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. Davis was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Leila Braswell. Presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2017 call for service.

On October 25, 2017, detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a Gonzales residence in reference to a report of possible sexual contact between an adult male subject and a 15-year-old female. Upon arrival, detectives made contact with the complainant. Detectives also made contact with Davis who confessed to engaging in sexual intercourse with the juvenile. Davis was subsequently arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Detention center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Davis was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, Davis must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for a period of 15 years.
