On March 5, 2018, Victor Vieyra of 41270 Merritt Evans Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 59, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Vieyra was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Charles “Chuck” Long, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a July narcotics investigation.
On July 26, 2017, narcotics agents with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of 41270 Merritt Evans Rd. as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. Upon making entry into the residence, agents made contact with Vieyra. During the search of the residence, agents located quantities of cocaine and marijuana. Agents also located a digital scale commonly associated with the packaging and sale of illegal narcotics. Vieyra was subsequently arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Vieyra was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
