Gonzales Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Illegal Drug Activity

          Neo Morris of 1612 Coontrap Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 42, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts), Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Creation or Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory, and Obstruction of Justice. Morris was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Charles “Chuck” Long, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge John Smith. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a narcotics investigation in the City of Gonzales. 

          In July of 2025, narcotics agents with the Gonzales Police Department received information indicating that Neo Morris was involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics. During the course of an investigation, agents were able to confirm information provided. As part of this investigation, agents secured a search warrant for Morris’ residence. During a search of Morris’ residence, agents located quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, hydrocodone, and gabapentin. Agents also located an assortment of items associated with production, packaging, and sale of illegal narcotics. Morris was subsequently arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. 

          Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Neo Morris was sentenced to 12 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
