Labadieville Man Pleads Guilty to Simple Burglary

On April 25, 2017, Lenny Richard of 110 Cody Ln. Labadieville, LA., age 54, pled guilty to Simple Burglary. Richard was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following the burglary of an Assumption Parish homeowner’s shed.

On January 3, 2017, deputies with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on Cindy St. in Labadieville in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim in this matter who advised that Lenny Richard had broken into a shed connected to the residence and stole several electric power tools. The victim advised that Richard later told him that he had taken the items from the shed, but would not elaborate on what he had done with them. Detectives were able to locate several of the stolen tools at a Lafourche Parish pawn shop and identify Richard as the individual who had pawned the tools. Richard was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above mentioned charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Judge Kliebert ordered that Richard be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a period of 18 months with credit for time served.
