On April 24, 2017, Jermaine White of 8252 Hargis St. Convent, LA., age 30, pled guilty to the charge of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. White was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2014 arrest.
On October 10, 2014, deputies with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a Convent residence in reference to a report of a male subject inappropriately touching a 10 year old female. The juvenile victim was able to identify the male subject in question as Jermaine White due to knowing him from around the neighborhood. An arrest warrant was issued for White, and he was subsequently booked into the St. James Parish Detention Center.
White, who has several prior convictions, was convicted in 2009 for Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. White received a 5 year sentence for this crime.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above mentioned charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. Sentencing is tentatively scheduled for July 3, 2017.
