Morgan City Man Pleads Guilty Following Domestic Abuse Related Arrest

          On September 9, 2019, Jamie Ivy of 109 Andras St. Morgan City, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment, and Violation of a Protective Order. Ivy was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a January arrest.

          On December 30, 2018, deputies with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to an area residence in reference to a domestic abuse incident. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Ivy’s estranged girlfriend who advised that when Ivy was not allowed into her residence, he proceeded to kick the door in and attacked her. Ivy was currently under a protective order filed by the victim in this matter. A warrant of arrest was issued for Ivy. On January 4, 2019, deputies arrested Ivy and transported him to the Assumption Parish Detention Center where he was booked accordingly. 

          Upon entering a guilty plea to the above mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Ivy was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
