Pierre Part Man Pleads Guilty to Unlawful Operation of a Social Networking Website

On January 23, 2017, Huey Hue of 906 Bayou Dr. Pierre Part, LA., age 54, pled guilty to Unlawful Use of a Social Networking Website. Hue was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr. This guilty plea was a result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a November 26, 2015 incident.

On November 26, 2015, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a Pierre Part residence regarding a convicted sex offender making contact via Facebook with a male juvenile. The suspect was identified as Huey Hue. Deputies were able to obtain messages between Hue and the juvenile. It was determined that Hue does have a prior conviction for Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. It should be noted that it is illegal for convicted sex offenders to use social networking websites. An arrest warrant was issued for Hue and he was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Hue did admit to messaging the victim via Facebook Messenger.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Judge Turner ordered that Hue be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a period of 3 years at hard labor with credit for time served. It was further ordered that the imposed sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence
