Pierre Part Woman Pleads Guilty to Illegal Narcotics Possession

On January 25, 2017, Danica Medine of 1201 Hwy 70 Lot C Pierre Part, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Medine was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2015 arrest.

On September 30, 2015, an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop which led him to come into contact with Danica Medine. Medine was subsequently arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center. During a search of Medine’s person upon her entering the detention center, a small plastic baggie containing crack cocaine was located inside of her under clothing. Medine was then booked into the detention center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Judge Verdigets ordered that Medine be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for 1 year with credit for time served.
