On September 26, 2017, Oscar Vasquez of 40400 Rhonda Ave. Prairieville, LA., age 51, pled guilty as charged to Aggravated Crimes Against Nature (2 counts). Vasquez was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Shawn Bush, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Robert Klees (ad hoc judge). This guilty plea stems after a 2016 arrest following allegations of sexual abuse.
On October 23, 2016, deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office were contacted in reference to allegations of sexual abuse against Oscar Vasquez. Vasquez was accused of having sexually explicit contact with a 13-year-old female. Detectives interviewed the juvenile victim and were able to obtain videos of Vasquez in the act. Detectives obtained a warrant for Vasquez’s arrest and he was subsequently booked into the Ascension Parish Detention Center.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. The charge of Aggravated Crimes Against Nature carries up to a 20 year prison sentence.
