On Monday, Tajuan Lemar of 1161 Old Vacherie St. Vacherie, LA, age 51, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts). Lemar was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors in connection with a 2024 narcotics investigation.
On December 19, 2024, during the course of an ongoing narcotics investigation, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Detectives executed a search warrant at 1161 Old Vacherie St. Vacherie. Upon coming into contact with Tajuan Lemar and advising him of his rights. Lemar admitted to being in possession of illegal narcotics and provided detectives with information relative to where the narcotics were located. During the search, detectives located and seized large quantities of cocaine and fentanyl. Lemar was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. James Parish Jail where he was booked accordingly.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Tajuan Lemar was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
