Belle Rose Man Gets 18 years on Narcotics Charges

On August 6, 2015, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics task force executed a search warrant at a residence located at 267 HWY 1003 Belle Rose. Upon making entry into the residence, detectives located several types of narcotics and drug paraphernalia throughout the residence. Upon conducting the search of the residence, detectives arrested Travis Franklin of 267 HWY 1003 Belle Rose for multiple narcotics related charges.

          On March 21, 2016, Travis Franklin, 267 HWY 1003 Belle Rose, LA. 70341, age 36, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Substance, Franklin was sentenced to 18 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served with at least 10 years of which shall be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. On the Charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Franklin was sentenced to 18 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served with the first 2 years of this sentence to be served without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. The sentences imposed will run concurrent with one another. Franklin must also forfeit all items seized including but not limited to money and contraband to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. On the charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous.
