SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of March 21-March 24, 2016, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James

Ascension Parish:

  1. Shad Nichols, 165 Nichols Rd. Mendenhall, MS. 39114, age 45, pled guilty to one count of Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  1. William Melancon, 14173 Anna Rd. Donaldsonville, LA. 70346, age 21, pled guilty to two counts of Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count, to run concurrent with one another.

 

  1. Brooke Barrient, 404 East Church St. Hammond, LA. 70401, age 22, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

 

  1. William Bridges, 48274 Amite River Rd. St. Amant, LA. 70774, age 26, pled guilty to Monetary Instrument Abuse and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

 

 

  1. Markiss Buckley, 1904 US. 61 Apt. 215 Gonzales, LA. 70737, age 25, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen things and Forgery. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count to run concurrent with one another, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Jennifer Craig, 1600 34th Gulfport, MS. 39501, age 30, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Terrance Richard, 506 Pine St. Donaldsonville, LA. 70346, age 26, pled guilty to two counts of Simple Burglary and was sentenced to four years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count, to run concurrent with one another, and consecutive with a sentence the defendant is currently serving in West Baton Rouge Parish.

 

  1. Shenika Sanford, 8313 Greenwell Springs Rd. Baton Rouge, LA. 70814, age 24, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to run concurrent with a sentence the defendant is currently serving in East Baton Rouge Parish.

 

  1. Oliver Solomon, 35034 HWY 1 Donaldsonville, LA. 70346, age 20, pled guilty to Auto Burglary and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

    10. Dennis Duronslet, 1604 South Park Ave. Gonzales, LA. 70737, age 44, pled guilty to DWI 3rd The defendant is to be sentenced on June 20, 2016 following a Pre-Sentence Investigation ordered by the court.

    11.  Rachel Hobgood, 1365 Coursey BLVD. Apt. 1328 Baton Rouge, LA. 70817, age 33, pled guilty to DWI 3rd The defendant is to be sentenced on June 20, 2016 following a Pre-Sentence Investigation ordered by the court.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sara Clarke. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

 

Assumption Parish:

  1. Ronald Southall, 402 Veterans BLVD. Donaldsonville, LA. 70346, age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Kevin Campbell, 1006 Arms St. Thibodaux, LA. 70301, age 45, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

 

  1. Jared Thibodeaux, 210 Due Dr. Thibodaux, LA. 70301, age 26, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation

St. James Parish:

  1. Michele Taylor, 1341 N Ezidore St. Gramercy, LA. 70052, age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation
