During the week of July 22 – July 26, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

Ascension Parish had no court news to report this week. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Kipp Domingue, 333 Shell Beach Rd. Pierre Part, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jayson Whitfield, 101 Mark St. Hot Springs, AR, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Terrance Dupaty, 135 Dorseyville Lane Belle Rose, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Extortion and Aggravated Flight from an Officer. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Seth Pujol, 2413 Lee Dr. Pierre Part, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery Involving Strangulation and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Tranise Major, 260 Triple Oaks Raceland, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Bharat Moonkissoon JR., 218 Convent St. Labadieville, LA, age 35, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. This sentence is suspended, and the defendant is to remain on home incarceration for a period of 3 years to be monitored by the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Upon release from home incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on an additional 1 year of supervised probation. 
  1. Armand Metrejean, 241 N Bay Rd. Pierre Part, LA, age 48, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

  1. Aaron Henry, 478 Bridget Rd. Schriever, LA, age 28, pled guilt to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jeremy Randle, 323 Second St. Franklin, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of a Place of Business and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Krystal Clement, 115 Diplomat Dr. Thibodaux, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.

St. James Parish: 

  1. Dior Batiste, 23077 Pine St. Vacherie, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Tramadol, Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone, Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Eric Duhe, 6260 B Rev Thomas Scott St. Convent, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jerry Breaux, 2608 Kansas Ave Kenner, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Quail Collins, 2598 N Central Ave Lutcher, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Sincir Porter, 2548 Lionel Washington St. Lutcher, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (2 counts), Theft of a Firearm, and Battery of a Correctional Facility Employee. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. Shanlest Felton, 6260 Rev. Thomas St. Convent, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Laura Nandin, 1801 Bayside Dr. Rowlett, TX, age 51, pled guilty to Residential Contractor Fraud and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
