SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of September 28 – October 2, 2020, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Jerad Reine, 15265 Wendell Bazile Rd. Maurepas, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property Over $1,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  2. John Webb, 8503 Main St. Sorrento, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Theft of a Firearm. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served on home incarceration and monitored by Probation and Parole.
  3. Kolby Louque, 3483 Tupelo Ln. Paulina, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $1,000, but Less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Marlon North, 33054 Hwy 943 Donaldsonville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Kevin Hamilton, 133 Violet St. Labadieville, LA., age 57, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation.
  3. Corey Rentrop, 165 Flamingo Rd. Morgan City, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  4. Dusty Falcon, 461 Hwy 400 Napoleonville, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Obstruction of Justice. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 ½ years supervised probation.
  5. Yvette Hewitt, 4719 N Hwy 308 Napoleonville, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Theft Over $750, but Less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

St. James Parish

  1. Leon Jones, 8171 Pleasant Hill St. Convent, LA., age 43, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above-mentioned case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.
