Two Men Indicted on Second Degree Murder Charges by Ascension Parish Grand

On October 5, 2016, an Ascension Parish Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment for Second Degree Murder charges on both Jarvis Mcnair, age 26, of Gonzales, LA., and Andre Wilson, age 21, of St. Amant, LA. These indictments stem after two unrelated incidents.

On July 5, 2016, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Hwy 22 at the Interstate 10 overpass in Sorrento. Upon arrival, deputies observed 36 year old Shondrica Dejoie suffereing from a gunshot wound. Dejoie’s fiancé, Jarvis Mcnair is accused of following Dejoie down Hwy 22 before shooting her while still in her vehicle. Mcnair remains incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Detention Center awaiting arraignment. Mcnair is scheduled to be arraigned on October 24, 2016. Assistant District Attorney Shawn Bush is the lead prosecutor on this case.

On May 3, 2016, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an unrelated incident at a Gonzales residence after receiving a 911 call in which the caller advised of an unresponsive male subject inside the residence. During the course of the investigation, detectives obtained information indicating that the individuals at the residence were using illegal narcotics. Andre Wilson is accused of bringing 20 year old Abraham Said of Baton Rouge to the residence and administering a lethal dose of heroin to Said. An autopsy confirmed that Said succumbed to a heroin overdose. Wilson remains incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Detention Center awaiting arraignment. Assistant District Attorney Joni Buquoi is the lead prosecutor on this case.
